Before you cancel

💡Netflix lets you pause your membership for 1–3 months — your profiles, history, and recommendations stay intact and no payment is taken during the pause.
💡Check if the shows you watch most are available on a cheaper service. Our subscription advisor compares your watchlist against all UK streaming services.
💡Downloads will stop working immediately on cancellation, even if your billing period has not ended yet.

What happens to your account

After cancellation

Your Netflix account stays active and fully usable until the last day of your current billing period. After that date, you lose access to all content and your downloads are removed. Your profiles, watch history, ratings, and My List are saved for 10 months.

When billing stops

Netflix stops billing you the moment you confirm cancellation — you will not be charged again. You keep access until your billing period ends. No refund is given for the unused days.

How to reactivate

To reactivate, sign back in to netflix.com with your original email and password and click Restart Membership. If it has been less than 10 months, your profiles, watch history, and personalised recommendations will be fully restored.

1
Go to netflix.com and sign in with your original email and password
2
Click Restart Membership on the account page
3
Choose your plan (you can change it from your previous one)
4
Enter or confirm your payment details
5
Your profiles, watch history, and recommendations are automatically restored (within 10 months of cancellation)
