How to cancel Disney+

Watch out for

Subscribed via Apple, Amazon, or Google? You MUST cancel through them — Disney+ cannot cancel third-party billing and the Cancel button will be greyed out
No refunds are given for the current billing period, even if you cancel on day one
Your watchlists and continue-watching progress are permanently deleted 30 days after cancellation — there is no grace period to recover them
Disney+ has no pause feature — cancelling is permanent until you resubscribe

Step by step

Go to disneyplus.com and sign in with your account

Click your profile icon in the top right corner

Select Account from the dropdown menu

Under your subscription details, click Cancel Subscription
5
Select a reason (optional) and click Continue to Cancel
6
Click Confirm Cancellation to finalise — you keep full access until your billing period ends

On iPhone / iPad

Open iOS Settings and tap your name at the top

Tap Subscriptions

Find Disney+ in the list and tap it
4
Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm

Before you cancel

💡Disney+ has no pause option — once cancelled, your watchlists and viewing progress are deleted after 30 days and cannot be restored if you resubscribe later.
💡Check whether you're mid-way through a Disney+ or Star original series before cancelling — you'll lose your continue-watching position if you resubscribe after the 30-day data window.
💡If you subscribed through Apple, Amazon Channels, or Google Play, the Cancel button on the Disney+ website will be greyed out. You must cancel via those platforms directly.

What happens to your account

After cancellation

Your Disney+ account remains active and fully usable until the last day of your current billing period. After that you lose access to all content immediately. Your profile names, watchlists, and continue-watching data are kept for 30 days before being permanently deleted.

When billing stops

Disney+ stops billing you as soon as you confirm cancellation. You will not be charged again. There is no pro-rata refund for any unused days in the current billing period.

How to reactivate

To reactivate, return to disneyplus.com and choose a subscription plan. If it has been fewer than 30 days since your cancellation, your watchlists and viewing progress may still be available. After 30 days all profile data is permanently deleted and you start fresh.
